  • This was on my sisters album. I used to sing this with such passion during my teens when I suffered years of abuse. After marriage I didn't hear it again and forgot about it. Then this week as I finished the final draft of my book being published soon, a friend came to stay and played it to me. Memories came flooding back and I sang it again with the same passion. The words are so true, Jesus never did let me go, He carried me through, now I can help others. Thank you SteD- had to youtube it!

  • great song

  • @ceri64 where is the book and what is the name of it?

  • @bioit2003 She has. She's been touring with MWS doing many of the "older" Christian songs from her early career.

  • God has sustained me for 33 years, and has never let me go, even during the times when I tried to hide my heart. I couldn't feel His presence, but He was there anyway, with every breath I took. Thank you, Lord!

  • Amy is so awesome! :))

  • Amen! This was the Amy who helped many of us through some tough stuff.

I wish she would come back to this, singing to the Lord, that is.

  • wow. I was just thinking about this concert video. It was only available on VHS. It's interesting to see Michael W. Smith and Gary Chapman in the same concert.

  • She sounded great during this period of time. This was a new song and the audience was like - what? lol One of the best off the Straight Ahead album.

  • Thanks for posting this song. I needed to hear her last night. It helped so much! I miss these great songs....

  • Definitely 80's.

  • Well, Holihan plays well ... and I forget the keyboard fellow's name (synth player, may have to go look it up). But Dann Huff played such a great solo on the studio version ... like, 8 bars of pure perfection.

It is a good song, but here, with the "dueling band members" thing, it's kinda like it was just a vehicle to have fun.

    My $.02....
