Yes, that's the Churchills shaking hands. I've read accounts of the event saying Lawrence of Arabia was there but don't see him in the video. I don't think he's one of the people on the side, though.

The first rabbi is R' Kook, the Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi. Behind him is R' Sonnenfeld, the head of the anti-Zionist Orthodox community. (He and R' Kook were ideological opposites but greatly respected each other.) The third rabbi, with the turban, is R' Meir, the Sephardic Chief Rabbi.

Are you saying that it's Winston Churchill & his wife at teh top of the stairs shaking hands? Can you see Sir herbert Samuel ? Where is TE Lawrence in the film ?

Marc, I think you're reading into it a bit much- there's no "recoiling" going on. The "her," by the way, is Clementine Churchill, standing next to her husband, Winston Churchill. T. E. Lawrence ("of Arabia") is also present. Some party, huh?

Notice how Rav Kook recoils when he see her, and Rav Sonnenfeld doesn't even notice her..
