The Anti-Bully Challenge by Pendergrass Academy

The anti-bully challenge is a month long by the Pendergrass Academy of Martial Arts effort to educate kids about the cause and effect of bullies in our community. The kids will learn about what causes a bully to behave the way they do, as well as, how to effectively deal with bullies. Each week specific topics will be covered (i.e. behaviors of a bully, 3 T-steps to dealing with bullies, Rules of Engagement, etc.) and a homework assignment will be given for that week. The homework assignment will be centered on demonstrating a random act of kindness. Once the homework is assigned and the child demonstrates their knowledge of that week's topic they will be provided a reward. We feel that by having the child perform a random act of kindness they will help to foster a positive environment and community in which they live, and therefore increase their self worth and show others a more positive approach to how they treat others. Each child will be given a work sheet in which lists the assignment and topics of bully discussion. Parents will sign off on these once the assignment has been completed. The child will bring it in to the school and give it to their instructor then receive their reward.
