This song - 'Danse de Mardi Gras' -lead me to hunt down "The Balfa Brothers Play Traditional Cajun Music, Vols. 1-2". Two other favorite songs are the instrumental 'Chère Joues Roses' and 'Chère Bassette'. Hearing this again makes me want to hunt down Dewey Balfa and Tracy Schwarz' - 'Traditional Cajun Fiddle: Instruction' on Smithsonian Folkways (FW08361) and learn cajun fiddle on my own! Also search out Dewey Balfa's 'Cajun Fiddle, Old and New' (FW08362)

I lived in Lafayette for 10 years ! Also, Cecilia, Sunset, and Youngsville. Loved it and miss it terribly !

you have to go to Acadiana, not New Orleans for this feeling. New Orleans is more jazzy. Go to Festivals Acadians in Lafayette.
