Actress and author Portia de Rossi talks about her new memoir "Unbearable Lightness" and sits down with Oprah for a candid conversation about a secret that nearly killed her: a battle with an eating disorder anorexia. She also talks about coming out as a lesbian, her life today with wife Ellen DeGeneres and taking her last name.

  • OH MY GOD.

She's written this book to show people they shouldn't hide who they are, that everyone should accept themselves whether gay, straight, bi, tall, short, skinny, big or WHATEVER - and trying to help people - and all people can comment on is how much of a "sook" or "dyke" or "bitch" or "wrong" she is.

  • She's fucking beautiful, as is Ellen <3

  • Portia on Oprah's hate mail: Oprah gets hate mail and it hurts HER. Go figure.

  • I just realized that Charlize Theron is an idiot for not wanting to marry because gays are not allowed to. Then why is Ellen and Rosie O'Donnell married? They don't want to hold off until all gays get married, but straight people will? I don't get it.

  • This interview totally broke my heart, it's so honest and I respect Portia a lot more now for doing this. She is so brave.

  • so cute when she cried for ellen :)

  • a beauty :)

  • she cried for ellen

  • 0:18 I told that myself many times.. i still do have a hard time looking in to the mirror.. i am not anorexic, i just hate the way i look.. it doesn't have much to do with the weight, i just can't stand myself..

I'm definitely ordering this book.. b/c she really is a huge inspiration.. i hope one day i will have as much will power as she does, and be able to fully accept myself.. looking forward to it :)..

  • @mckennaworldtraveler Agree:) she is amazing<33

  • @kashaslave I don't know, but I have no idea where you're going with this. I was talking about people bullying her while she's trying to make a point that we shouldn't judge people on their LOOKS, and then you start talking about men liking little kids? It's a different topic altogether.

  • to all the people dissing on her because she be a HOMOsexual, get a fucking life and honestly the more I hear morons like you rant, the more I support gay rights. That is the impact your dribble has. Good job. If you are all so worried about things that go against God (even though it's pretty given that homosexuals are born gay) how 'bout you worry about all the GMOs you be eating? God didn't make thatshit!
