  • very helpful. Many thanks

  • Instead of using rubber bands, which fall apart over time, go to a fabric store, or your local Walmart's sewing department, and buy some elastic. Its knit with thread over the rubber, so its easier to work with, and you can buy narrow or wide, and different types that have more or less give to them. You can buy a couple of packages for a buck or two each and cut to the length you need.

  • For feeding the hose into the hose cover, slip a plastic sandwich bag over the hose end, or just slap on some of that sticky sandwich wrap. It makes the rubber hose end slippery, so you can feed it through more easily. Tie your string over the plastic bag or over the Glad Press N' Seal wrap.

  • @jephboy

I've looked at amazon.com. They sell a DC cord you can plug into your cigarette lighter port. Another option is to get a dc power supply or a DC to AC cocnverter. check the requirements of your machine first. Good luck, I agree it is way too overlooked in this subject.

  • Want another good idea use pipe insulation on the hose and you don't get condensation in the hose and you don't breath water in all night.

  • Any have tips for camping? maybe like an external power source that is economical?

  • Very practical advice. Thanks for taking the time to share.

  • I use a CPAP too.

And I had the same idea about hanging the hose from the ceiling.

But I also use that part from a washing machine which prevents it's drain from bending to far.

Your CPAP hose fits in perfectly.

And I use that rubber band they use in some jackets.

    It has fabric around it.

You could get that in a store which sells sewing stuff.
