  • Could this be applied towards high precision pressure sensors? Or have people already done so?

  • Don't know. I saw something like this, to find the weak points in a structure under different forces. Searching with google seems that there are sensors using polarization.

  • Surely the pressure is just causing the plastic to bend slightly, which would obviously have the effect of bending the light. Just like would happen if you bend a mirror or lens - it distorts the light?
