@burn625 Yeah, it is kinda confusing. I think this video is meant to convey how to do a keto-diet as a MEDICAL treatment for epilepsy.

@burn625 You do need to weigh your food if you are doing this for epileptic reasons..

STEAK AND EGGS AND BUTTER AND MILK AND VITAMIN SUPPLEMENTS!!!!!!

Low calorie high fat?! you mean low carb high fat right?! fat has nearly 2 times more energy than carbs! lol
-
fruits have no place in a keto diet they spike the insuline

Actually, this video is about the Keto Diet as a method of controlling drug resistant epilepsy. It’s not about Keto as a weight loss method. You do have to weigh everything and be VERY specific if you’re trying to control seizures. You can play a little more fast and loose if you just want to lose weight.

because you cut carb in this diet...
carb is the 1st priority of energy source the body would take to process.... when you take fair amount of carbs n fat at the same time, your body will choose to take the calories from the carb 1st, then the fat will be stored as body fat, if the body had enough calories for energy.
you take fat to induce the body to take energy from fat source like you body fat....
im also new to this diet and currently still reading about it...

Fat has 9 calories/gram. On a Keto diet it is optimal to eat as much fat as possible. For example, one could eat 200 grams of fat per day. 200 x 9 = 1800 calories. And that doesn't include the 4 cal/g that protein has. Assuming one eats 100 grams of protein, 100 x 4 = 400.
1800 + 400 = 2200 calories right there.
By the way, everything you eat, or anything that supplies energy, has calories in it. Fat is a very calorie dense substance, whereas carbs aren't.

@RjTheGenius Fat=/=Calories.. you have foods with fat but very low calorie levels.. and even high on proteins..
to make it simpler: Fat goes bye bye when you workout, Protein keeps current muscle levels, Fatty boomba no longer fatty boomba.

How could you be low calorie and high fat at the same time? It's not impossible, but it's highly unlikely that it'll work out.
this video is verrrry misleading. first of all, it doesn't need to be low calorie and you don't need to weight your food at all. and the claim that you won't get enough nutrients for healthy growth is wrong too, unless you're literally eating olive oil and mayonnaise like it shows in this video. eating meat, veggies, fruit, nuts, etc is actually very nutrient dense

Beware this video is partially misinformative. Before entering this diet, be sure to get enough information from a knowledgeable health care practitioner (i.e. most family doctors wouldn't know much about it or would be biased towards more pharmaceutical treatments). Registered Dietitian.
