The Claremont College Braineaters square off against the St. John's College Bad Ass Monks in the 2011 USAU D-III National finals.

Fast forward to 17:45 for the grab that everyone is talking about.

One of the observers got in touch with me to tell me that the "foul" at 7:41 was actually a travel called because the pivot was set at the wrong point. The observer overruled the call because it wasn't called immediately.

Once again, apologies about the shaky camera work. The good news is: My wife got me a tripod as a graduation present! So, in the future these should be a little bit more steady.

  • at 7:42, what does "part of the throwing motion" have to do with anything? if the thrower fouls the marker, its a foul, regardless of whether it was "part of the motion" or not.

  • @REGROSS527 From my perspective... I thought that the thrower had called a foul and the defender was claiming that the foul had happened prior to the throwing motion, thus bringing the disc back and taking the stall to zero. That's what I thought the discussion was about.

However, if you check the description of the video, the marker called a travel because the disc wasn't brought in at the correct spot. However, since the call was made late and the observer overruled the call.

  • @ecmpave it rolled out of bounds

  • at 17:45 did the guy just bring the pull up to the line????

  • @aamidjaythreepointoh 175g is the weight of the disc, not the diameter.....

  • @bammikevandmuska

    175 grams.

  • claremont's marking is terrible

  • how big in diameter are the ultimate disc.

  • at 2:55 the catch is good becuz the receivers foot touches in bounds b4 hi body hits the ground out. The rule is that the 1st part of anywhere on ones body to hit the ground determines in or out of bounds.

  • i have a question, i have never played in a tournament will collage rules or anything, but i thought that if you crossed the out of bounds line before you establish a pivot foot, you were out. but on 2:55 a handler caught one on the dive and landed out, but they kept possession. how does that work? any information would be appreciated

  • It's St. John's University by the way
