@transplantero Yes, the drum is completely cut in half! Then we put it back together and the lugs are what keep the top and bottom half a complete unit.
@MAD018 It's an Evans G1 coated single ply head. Keeps the drum sound very open and bright. Also, the depth of the drum, thin maple shell, and zig zap split all add to the drums resonance. If you want less ring you can use a 2-ply head with resonace control or use some dampening like Moon Gel or tape. You can always back off the resonance of a drum but you can never add it in if it doesn't exist in the first place.
What does it mean "Split Snare"? Is it cut in two pieces and sick together only because of the lugs? BTW, snare sounds amazing!
