Robert Sungenis and James White debate the issue of Sola Fide. Are we justified by faith alone, or is it not by faith alone? Are works necessary for Salvation? What role does grace play?

  • This is a great debate becaus James White's debate tactics didn't work on Sungenis. Sungenis won this debate, especially with his answer on Roman's 4, he kicked White's butt on this one which is unusual because White usually wins.

  • ·Here's a link to the book

·"The Facts about Luther". Read his words in light of Jesus' words :" the mouth speaks what the heart is full'. If my salvation depended on Luthers ideas, I would want to know as much as possible about him, his character, his life, how he treated and spoke to people

  • Thats not the Reformed version of predestination, thats condtional election in CCC 600, not unconditional election. We believe that God chooses us reguardless whether or not we done anything good or evil (Rom 9:11), which disproves both Arminianism and Roman Catholicism, because they both stretch freewill over God's Sovereignty.

  • A few examples of predestination being taught in the Catechism:

"..he establishes His eternal plan of "predestination", He includes in it each person's free response to His grace.."-CCC 600

"God, indeed, who has predestined us to adoption as His sons, has conformed us to the glorious Body of Christ"-CCC 2782

  • Nobody said nothing changes. Look it up in the modern Catholic Catechism. It is searchable online. Type in Predestination. Didnt say we teach Calvinist Predestination.

  • Give me a link to what they teach. Since the Roman organization never changes, what you

give me should be definitive and taught by

all the great doctors of said organization.

  • clearly you are ignorant of the fact that the Catholic Church has always taught the doctrine of Predestination.

  • You have to be kidding. Predestination is

a foundation of Reformed Theology. That debate

would be too easy for White or any other

Reformed scholar. If you're RCC, you'll avoid

asking for a debate on that topic. You'll

    avoid it like the Plague.

  • I have to admit White seems to be a very intelligent man, strong apologist, and good debater.
