"Science Learning For All: Shaping our Future by Investing In People" is a presentation from the Lawrence Hall of Science on the critical need for more and better K-12 science education and how corporate partners can and do help.
In a world where four out of five future careers require an understanding of science and technology, were still educating far too many of our kids as if we lived in the early 20th century. Science is largely ignored in elementary school, with Bay Area K-5 teachers spending, on average, less than one hour a week on the subject. For over 40 years the Lawrence Hall of Science has been developing and delivering science education programs that teach reasoning and investigation skills that are critical to addressing the worlds increasingly complex economic, environmental, and social problems.
