Theatre in Ireland

PLU Assistant Professor Brian Desmond talks about learning about theatre in Ireland.

The Course: During this J-Term course in Ireland, students will observe and learn from Irish theatre professionals how Irish dramaturgical, performance and production practices differ from and inform the same practices in the United States. Students will read plays by canonical and contemporary Irish playwrights like Synge, O'Casey, Beckett, Friel, and Carr, participate in performance-based workshops, and attend numerous productions. Planned travel will include Dublin, Galway and possibly another city.
