Esmael Omar, is the Director of Impact Kenya youth Initiative. He is a Somali, Muslim minority living in Kenya. Esmail works on issues of Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transexual (LGBT) rights. Esmael gives a detailed account here of the double discrimination faced by people who are minorities and are part of the LGBT community. These issues include restricted access to health services, discrimination, arrest, detention and in some cases people have been targeted for death.
