Cleveland International Piano Competion July-August 2009. First prize winner Martina Filjak. Semi-finals: Martina plays Scriabin: Nocturne for the left hand, Op 9, No 2.
Beautiful execution! Congratulations Martina, I just loved your capacity of expression and of course your cristal understanding of the piece. Thank you for sharing. Would love to hear you in person. Salvador, from Mexico.
This 'novelty' piece, winning in itself, should lead you to listen to the YouTubes of her Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin, which are remarkably fine - the Bach putting her in a league with Gould (though her interpretation is quite different).
I attended a master class with her. She has so much insight and she is incredible!
