One of a few quick & dirty sound clips of various amps. Ceriatone 5E3, Jensen P12N speaker, Parker P44, Duncan Jazz neck, JB bridge and Parker Piezo pickups. Running through various amp inputs, pickup positions, with overdrive, delay and reverb from a Boss ME50. Forgot to turn off the delay for the last one...

  • I had an idea...since most acoustic piezos sound brittle why not use an *alnico* speaker in it's amplification?

The peizo sounds like the strings and the alnico speaker responds more like the wood body(because it has a softer and compressed attack from the alnico).

The opening of this sounds almost like an acoustic, and a good deal better than many electric acoustic amps.

  • Yep, the P12N in the cab there is the big Alnico Jensen, similar to a Celestion Blue. It does have a great round, warm sound and takes the edge off harsh sounds. Very nice with a Tele bridge pickup.

  • hey can you tell me if iits still possible to find this model is the States? and how much it would run for? Because im in France for the moment, but on the Guitar Center and Musicians Friend website, they dont have them.

    Thnks in advance

  • I think the P44 was phased out a year or two back - ebay is your friend though. They are well worth the money, especially when fitted with Duncans.

  • Yep, they are a very nice guitar. The neck is superb - I think it is better than the Nightfly Mojo. The original Stinger humbuckers are decent and remind me of the Gibson 490/498 combo. They are the same ones used in the PRS SE series I think. Adding the Duncan Jazz/JB set gives it the same spec as the Mojo and to me there's very little difference in the sound. Only downside is the trem pivot edges are too soft and the piezos can be flakey. Check both before you buy.

  • nice legs, dude !! :)

  • Yeah,P12N's a great speakers. All the original guitar speakers have great character to them.

And when time permits I will plug an alnico high fi speaker(I pulled it off the side walk trash) into my PA and strum my acoustic to hear if alnico will improve the acoustic guitar tone...I strongly suspect it will:)

  • hey useful demo, useful tip down there, I'm considering buying hmmm actually I'm buying one of those is your parker's colour in transparent cherry, just black (light shines on it) or kind of other colour (tell what exactly)?

  • wow, beautiful sound... i'm about to buy that guitar, so do you like it, could you recommend it?
