Lol you just made a good point about cfcs i remember those. This is just the new face of the agenda. They were talking about global cooling 30 years ago too, and now its global warming. I think this is one way for them to paint china into a corner. To provoke a conflict.

I hope technology will help us out here. In a city in Germany they start a run with buses which uses fuel cells, than there is Fusion Power which may work in 20 or 30 years from now. There is also a plan to build an enormes solar thermal energy station, electric cars will be more and more on the streets ... So, if a co2 tax is making old technology costly so that this new technologies come quicker, I am fine with that.

You see there will always be an answer that is the only way, it will always cost the general public and it will always FAIL to fix the "problem", but rest assured there will always be another solution that will "fix" the problem just around the corner!!

i am not saying we need to ban co2. My point is simple, CFC's were a real threat and something was done to correct it!! A carbon Tax is nothing more then a proactive approach. Proactive means simply giving the appearance of intent with out actually doing anything. So in 10 years when the problem still remains, all the ppl that made a fortune from this tax can say "Hey we tried, but the problem is still here, so now we have to do it this way, it's the only way" just like the tax was the only way!

Yes, you are right, sometimes a ban is a good idea to improve a situation, like banning a plant poison when it harms the enviroment, or cfc's, because they are despensable. With CO2, a ban wouldn't work, because its to common to poduce it, so you ad a price on it. So next time, when you buy a car for instance, you will choose one which doesn't produce to much co2. Thats how its supposed to work, bullshitter

now if i took a bus to go visit them it would mean touring around the country side for 4 hours (or more) in a bus and then someone would still have to drive for 45 min to pick me up. and the same going back the other way. Now this would all prevent the co2 i would produce driving my little 4 cyl. car for an hour and a half. Make sense yet? So 1 of 2 things have to happen i have to make more money or cut something out. Do I stop working, eating, heating my house or visiting my family?

Bull sh*t, CFC's were actually a problem and something was actually done about it!!! they weren't taxed or any crap like that they were banned!!! If co2 was a really issue there would be much different "solution".

So how am I motivated to prevent co2? i still have to drive to work everyday, I still have to buy food that generated co2 when it was produced, i still have to produce co2 to heat my house in the winter, i still have to drive to see my family,

I have no problem with this findings, climate is a complex result of a lot of things, so the sun has without doubt a big influence. But there is also a lot of evidence that human kind increases its influence too, so you should not ignore that.
