I probably sound like anyother fashion struck teenager, but let me first present my case. I am in eighth grade (13 years old). Since I was...hmm...atleast 11, I have wanted to be in fashion in some way. It has gone from wanting to be a marine biologist to an author to finally, a fashion designer. I don't want to do it for the glamour (though it sounds like that aspect is intresting too :P), but I want it for the art and the creativity. I love expressing myself!
Well coming from a student who is currently a junior in the fashion program Parsons is a good school with an very intensive fashion program. You'll have no social life but most of the teachers are great. Yeah there are a lot of things wrong with it mainly administrative ( advising, financial aid, etc). But the teachers and the intensity of the workload prepares you for the craziness and long hours that go on when you have a job.
@yeasmin1987 - Just a word to the wise that thr Students Review site has a lot of negative (red square) posts by former students about Parsons (one of those private for-profit tech schools). Better to look into a traditional university (even community college first) that is also accredited by National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
Any advice for getting into Parsons? I know I need to sketch and stuff, but anything else?!
