Reality Check- 2

We got on the plane and were off for Long Beach, California. Skylar and I were very nervous for the big move. Dad moved into a small appartment, so he had a cheap place to live in until he could get another job and make money. It was a long journey from Texas to California, but we took the time to sleep. We were arriving on the first day of Christmas Vacation. Great. When vacation was over, we were going to stay for the last half of the school year. When Mr. Hands found out I was leaving, he let the class have a free day. Ugh. The only name I knew of where we were going was my Godmother, Denise. I knew she was married, and had four sons. She sure had a lot of free time. Skylar looked over at my nervous as people began getting off the plane. We got up, grabbing all of our bags- not much- and we got off. We looked around, and saw a guy in a tuxedo holding a sign that read, 'The Clark Twins'. I rolled my eyes and pulled Skylar in the right direction. The guy took us out to a huge limo and we drove for a long time. No sight-seeing or anything. "Ugh, this is going to be so lame," I groaned. Skylar rolled her eyes at me and said, "I'm sure it'll be fine." "We're here, ladies," the driver said, then pulled to a stop. I looked out the window, and gaped. They were rich. "Woah," Skylar whispered. WE got out and got our bags. I heard a faint, "They're here!!!" from inside the house. As we walked toward the house, the limo left. I was about the ring the doorbell, but the door swung open. A middle-aged woman stood there excited. I frowned as she grabbed Skylar and I into a tight hug. I was NOT a hugger. I did my best not to push her off. She let go and looked us over. I was in jean shorts, black and white converse and a black spaghetti-strap tank top. It may have been winter, but it was hot. Skylar was in red skinny jeans, red and white converse, and a red t-shirt. "Wow, you girls got so big! The last time I saw you, you were little babies." she said in awe. Yeah, of COURSE we've gotten bigger! I didn't say that, but she probably read that off of my face. "You're Electra," she guessed, her smile disappearing. I nodded. "We're going to fix you up to be a nice lady," she said, determined. I sighed and motioned to the heavy bag I was still carrying. "Come on, Denise, let them in," a guy a little older than her said. Ah, the father. Denise moved and we walked inside. "Thank you," Skylar smiled at him. He laughed. Denise shut the door and we set our bags down. Denise gave us an apologetic smile, and said, "My sons are all out with their friends right now. We told them to stay because you two were coming, but they wanted to go play sports with their friends." "That's okay," Skylar shrugged. We found out the guy's name was Kevin SR, but one of their sons was named Kevin also, so just to call him Paul. Paul showed us to our seperate rooms, right next to each other. They left us alone to unpack. I unpacked slowly, knowing I had nothing better to do when I finished. After a while, I heard people outside. I went out onto my balcony and saw a car FULL of a bunch of guys. I could make out a few sentences. "You BETTER not bail on the game tonight!" was the loudest one. "I won't! I have to go!" somebody answered. Somebody got out and went inside the house. I went back into my room and shut the balcony doors. I put the last of my clothes away and put my suitcase in the walk-in closet. The room was amazing. Skylar came in my room without knocking and laid down on the bed. "This house is UNREAL." she sighed, smiling. I went to shut the door. When I turned back around, Skylar was sleeping, curled up on my bed. I rolled my eyes. Of course she fell asleep. I went to the bookcase and skimmed some of the books. Ugh, these were all the easy books! I'd read half of them already, so I didn't know what to do then. I left quietly, not wanting to wake Skylar, and went downstairs. What to do...
