Casino equipment has come a long way in the past decade. This is a demo of the Tangam visual recognition system. As you can see the system is capable of recognizing values of playing cards (even when overlapping), as well as some objects (such as a cut card) in real time. In this demo names on playing cards and objects are displayed as titles, but in a real working system a lot more happens. The information that the system reads in real time is processed by the software. The software runs a number of analytics, such as player rating, dealer performance, flagging suspect card counters, catching various casino scams, etc...
Looks like it uses ANN (artificial neural network) in blocks, pretty neat. Now just have one to correlate a "line" for a hand and total the individual hands automatically...possibly another one to be optically trained for cheques and possibly read back payouts/breaks and could be mounted at the dealer table for quick assists.
:)
here's to dreaming though on making my life better lol (if only people trusted computers more).
