Here is just a small sample of clips that I recorded on Saturday July 25, 2009 at 9pm EST. I am listening to the IOTA contest on 40 Meter SSB using the Elecraft K3. I was not an active participant in this contest, however I did give away a few points. I hope you enjoy this video and more importantly get a little feel of how the Elecraft K3 sounds from the receiving end. I had the rig set to put about 70 watts into a ground mounted vertical dipole. You will may have also noticed that I have the RFspace SDR-IQ interfaced with the K3 and a PC. This makes for a very interesting combination.

What is your antena on 40? Sounds good for locals but quite deaf for dx?

Actually on the contrary it is excellent for DX, it is just summer time here and the band is always in good shape as a matter of fact this last little while, 40 meters has been all but SHUT. I am using a home brew self supporting dipole. I work into VK, ZL all o EU no problems usually S9+ when conditions are ok.
Thanks for watching.
