I cannot imagine that I would ever think that this is a good idea for training professionals. I would be terrified!

@mgosby you may have to think again. This machine is used by the Italian national team, by Juventus, by Novara calcio to mention a few in Italy. There are other major league teams in South and Central America that are using it.

I can tell you that the machine has the best repeatability among the competition. This is achieved thank you to better geometry of the wheels, and other design details. I don't think the Italian national team would use it, if its performance was not close.

I would like to see about 5 of these upper 90 shots in a row in the same camera angle so I know that these aren't about 100 shots that were composed to look like the machine is perfect.

@128billybob I'm at the NSCAA convention, but you can see from a short-distance demo at bit dot ly slash z5vKzP that the machine is very precise. The receiving person was standing on the same marked point on the floor, and the ball was delivered 6 times in a row to his exact spot, holding the arms at the same height. (Yes the distance is much less and the speed very low, but this is just a proxi for its precision)

HI @Ronaldoseti I can think of a few good reasons. 1) What the machine takes away from training: the opportunity to give players a chance to practice shooting, aiming, adding power, varying curve, spin, and trajectory over time. 2) What the machine adds to training: reinforcing predictive patterns that get locked into the muscle memory and subconscious of a keeper. That's counter productive when trying to teach a player to anticipate, react and prepare for subtle changes in the game.
