Running through a couple of tunnels on the PA Turnpike and blipping the throttle a little. It's the Kittatinny and Blue Mountain Tunnels. Car is a Factory Five Roadster with a 281 DOHC Ford engine.

  • @magnusFFR5163RD And another reason: if I suddenly find myself driving at 11,000feet, the ECM can take care of the thinner air.

  • I love the modern engine!!!

  • What is the opposite of a "kit car" and how is it defined?

  • I would say yes.

  • Not disagreeing with you, because I like the way you think about Shelby. However, just to be specific; by your definition, any car that was partially assembled and then transferred to another, separate entity for final assembly is a "kit". Does that include cars that were built as a bare frame by one company and then bought by coach-builders to be fitted with a custom body. The Duesenberg J was sold as chassis only. Was the Duesy a kit, then?

  • Saying its not a kit. Just because a factory built it doesnt mean its not a kit. If the car is sold in kit form it doesnt matter who built it, its a kit car. Hell the original Shleby cobra was a kit car because Shelby bought the cars from AC in Britain and then added a drivetrain.

  • Which part is dishonest?

  • if your dishonest semantics make you feel better...

  • sweet tunnel

  • Why mod over Windsor?

    1. I prefer DOHC and 4-valves per cylinder;

    2. Engine management computer has already saved the engine once from overheating;

    3. FI for reliable engine performance--no flooded carb to deal with;

    4. The car only needs 350FWHP to perform at its best. You could have more, but you can't use most of it except to beat the aerodynamics at top speed;

    5. Running catalytic converters is simpler with an engine that was designed with emission controls in mind;
