@vacboi98 No problem - for cheap tools, try eBay.

@vacboi98 The DC18 has 200 airwatts of suction, the DC24 has 120 airwatts, so the DC18 is quite a bit more powerful. You only really notice it when using the tools, though - the DC24's smaller head focusses suction more intensely on the carpet, giving it the same pick-up as a full-size cleaner.

My DC18 is about a year old now. I like him a lot.
I took him to a friends cabin with dogs that destroyed all the nice rugs solid with hair, and nothing they used worked.
The hair was so embedded, it looked impossible from all summer that way.
The DC18 made them all look like new.
But some people, they simply can wreck a good hammer.
Obama should force new rule for these people. Allow them only industrial shop vac with no moving parts that can suck a clogged toilet clear.

I'm thinking about buying this machine off the net as I may not bother to replace the motor in my Dydon DC04. I only just thought about it and realised that the DC18 wasn't on the market very long. Why do you think Dyson didn't keep it going like the DC07, DC14 for example as the DC18 looks like a great machine.

Well I think it was made redundant by the DC24, which must have already been in development when the DC18 was launched.
The point of the DC18 was to be light and compact - and the DC24 is even lighter and even more compact! So the DC18 found itself made obsolete pretty quickly.
It's a shame; I really like the DC18 - more than the DC24, in fact!

Has this one got Samsung motor in it like the DC27?

Nope, it has a Panasonic motor in. I believe the DC27 is the first to use the new Samsung motor.
