  • Hi I was wondering I have a Magnavox 1St635 I was wondering how to set up the auxiliary on it? Do I need special cords or do something special to it? I was wonder how you did it. Thanks!!

  • @mryl73 Wow, I can barely remember, but: there are two RCA-type jacks somewhere under the metal chassis of the amplifier/receiver unit. They are labelled R &L Aux, as I recall. You can get a cord that is RCA on one end and 1/8 mini-plug on the other for plugging into an iPod or Mp3 player or whatever. Good luck.

  • We recently bought a house built in 1957 and is very original. I'm really hoping that I can find a late-50s early-60s working console much like this someday. I used to see quite a few of them in thrift stores but they've vanished, sadly. Most parted out and sold on eBay I fear, which is a real shame.

  • It is a shame. Do you ever check on Craigslist? I see a few of them locally on Craigslist... where are you located?

  • Hi - there is not necessarily much difference in the sound... it depends on the circuit design, speakers, and the whole system... they probably sound similar. Just enjoy the tube sound!

  • What did they use input jacks for back then?!?! Great looking old console.

  • They used RCA jacks like we still use today.

  • @tojala I have the same magnavox stereo console that is on the video, it works pretty well the record player I believe only needs a needle. I was surprised when I plugged it in and heard that it was working

  • Cool, one of these came with my house, but I haven't checked it out at all yet.

  • @MotorCycleGirlxox look on the back of the record player and get the model number then go here turntableneedles . com. this is where i got my needle from for my record player should be getting it today actually so we'll see if it works.

  • I just got one of these today for 25.00 like new

Has all the original paperwork with it even had the receipt the lady paid for it

    And 150 50's and 60's records

Mine is a 1961 model year

Blonde color wood with black lines very clean look I will be listing mine soon

  • Is that the same model used in The Dick Van Dyke show? If you look in the hallway behind the hearth, there's a console that looks very similar to this one.
