@Downfurlife, you agree with the Libertarian party 90% of the time, yet you view Obama, a true socialist and a puppet for his Wall Street & Federal Reserve masters, as a better choice than Palin, who at least proclaims to be an economic conservative?
Dude, you need to re-think all of that, and decide what you believe in, and which politicians deserve your precious vote (and it sure isn't anyone in the Republicrat party, except for Ron Paul, of course).
-
@STarCRAFT4BRITS, wrong. It's never pointless to vote for what you want, and if you vote for the lesser of two evils, you're still voting for evil.
-
Just vote for the Democrat or Republican candidate that best matches our beliefs because voting for a lib is pointless.

I cannot believe I am alone. I am inclined to believe a vote for the LP is a wasted vote. While I agree 90% of the time with the LP my vote & effort is too important to waste. I am not an Obama fan. However, with no doubt he was a better option than Palin. Today the LP just has no chance to overtake any serious government office. Intelligent people did everything possible to make sure Palin did not win. For 1 of the first times Indiana voted Dem. if I supported LP this might nota happen

I was a registered Libertarian at age 18, and remained so for 10 years. I came to realize over time the Libertarian Party can't win shit and was a much better use of my time to attempt to move the Republican Party in a libertarian direction. I'm a member of the Republican Liberty Caucus, which is a group of libertarians in the Republican Party. Check out the RLC, this is a two party system, always has been, always will be.

psykotrol so you are saying that no one created the music you ripped? so you just rip blank CD's and listen to blank CD's so why should someone get paid for making blank air for you to listen to? you are missing the whole point. you are putting the value in the CD and not the music thats on it which was CREATED by the musicians, the engineers and the music company.
-
No, the CD itself is a commodity that must be created and has scarcity. Once the CD is ripped or copied, the data can be copied endlessly without diminishing the original copy, or losing the original copy. There is infinite supply of the data created once it is ripped.
Youre comparing apples to oranges. I cant copy a statue and distribute it infinitely without, at some point, having it diminished, stolen, or broken.
IP "rights" are ONLY to protect corporate profits, not musicians profits.
-
It is still a commodity that must be created. If the creator does not get compensated for their work then they will not create. So intellectual property rights must be protected. what is the difference in a raw piece of stone and a statue? the statue was created from the stone. would you say it's value is more than the stone or equal to it? Just because a song can be copied electronically at no cost does not mean its value is reduced to nothing.
-
im a libertarian, but intellectual property is ridiculous. intellectual property is fundamentally different from physical property in that once it is created, there is no scarcity. It can be used, reused and duplicated indefinitely without diminishing the original copy. people who use or copy it without permission are not technically stealing if it does not affect the original copy
i am a radical libertarian but you guys need to make better ads because they sound like those cheesy commercials you always see on tv

Like all LP ads, my problem with it is that it offers no specifics. Our taglines all always things like "Enough is Enough!", "Vote for a real change", and "Send a message to Washington".
It would be more effective to state that Barr opposes the bailout and supports free market solutions ... not simply a vague notion of "change".
