Filmed at an egg farm just outside Melbourne which supplies major supermarket chains. Went home and had baked beans on toast.

  • i love eggs and this video is very stupid

  • I pay $3 for eggs from my neighbour, all free range.

But the majority of people buy eggs from the supermarket and pay much more. Im not for chooks being in cages, but if the farmer was paid a fair price for free range and the public would pay it then im sure most chooks would go free.

  • "Well, as we all have not enough money: the ill persons... have to die or do what they want, we can´t pay this stuff any more. Besides, there are overcrowded kindergartens, and we can´t efford to ground new ones. So your children will have 1 squaremetre place in future, that´s it. Or do you want to pay more? THEN of course we could change..." Great.

  • You really pay 10 Dollars for a carton of "GOOD" eggs? Well, I pay 2! And this is not too much. I don´t have much money, either. But please, how could it be okay to let others suffer just to safe money? Imagine the politicians tell you that in their latest news:

  • Of course im serious, the vast majority of people have no problems buying cheap eggs, just like they like to buy cheap meat and vegies.

In your comment you say it "should" be illegal, thats your opinion and why should it be? the only thing that is illegal here is the egg shed being broken into.

If you want to pay $10 a carton for eggs then im sure someone will decide ok ill buy some more land and let the chooks go free range.

  • @tastychops1 You serious? It SHOULD be illegal, that´s the point, isn´t it?!? It´s discussed all the time, everyone promises it will change, no battery hens anymore... yay, we see. And that´s why those videos are needed. Maybe to change ones mind. Not yours it seems. though I cannot imagine how NOT.

  • Can i ask how you entered this egg farm?

Probably the same way you entered the sheep farmers property. Illegally.

The egg farmer is not doing anything illegal, did you knock at the front door to tell them you were going in to film?

I hope they find this and press charges against you for tresspass.

  • wouldn't it be nice IF people cared enough, not to buy these eggs!! .. I will never buy eggs (keeping ur own hens is so rewarding, to see my ten hens happy makes me glad i know where my eggs come from) ... between 60 to 70 eggs per week.......... back yard hens are the best

  • Thank you for showing the individual hens plight in a factory farm , so often overlooked.
