Route is MDW-OAK. This was an odd takeoff. During the initial climb, we leveled out at about 3000 feet and flew at that altitude for about 10 minutes. Then we kept climbing. I think the pilots were looking for an opening in the clouds.

  • This is common... I have had this happen two times in A320s... It is just a holding pattern

  • probably not an opening in the clouds, it was probably air traffic control reasons
