These two great former champions squared off for the second time over 3 years after their first meeting. George Foreman was coming off a heart stopping win over Ron Lyle in 5 rounds. Foreman had lost only once still and had a sparkling record of 41-1 with 38 knockouts. Foreman was trying to get back to the top of the rankings to get another meeting with Muhammad Ali. Joe Frazier was near the end of his career and had lost his last fight to Muhammad Ali in the Thrilla In Manilla after beating Jimmy Ellis. Frazier had a record of 32-3 with 27 knockouts and wanted one more shot at the title.

  • Frazier was actually pretty good at evading punches but his pursuit style always put him in front of his opponent and ~something~ is going to land!

  • joe was very intelligent in this one avoiding foreman

  • @KyleArran33 yeh, sounds like him.

  • who is this on the commentating box ? is it howard cosell ?

  • Frazier was the best LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT in a division he shouldn't have been in!

  • @elmoskater The only time I remember seeing him put maximum effort into his punches was Ron Lyle, he was just so strong he hardly ever went all out but it was enough to still take out legends.

  • @elmoskater Watch Foreman's comeback title win against Moorer, it looks like Foreman is hardly even throwing punchs the entire fight but he knocked Moorer out, Foreman was just so strong he didn't need to wing big like Mike.

  • @adrenacrumb doll*

  • @elmoskater Foreman's puches just didn't look as hard as Mike because Mike didn't hit hard he needed the speed, that is why he was a freak, he threw hard punches but didn't even have to make an effort, you have to look at the way the boxers react. He was literally tossing a 220 Frazier around like a dool, picking him up off the ground.

  • @elmoskater You couldn't clinch Foreman that is why no one like Mike would get inside, Mike would come in land and then grab that was his entire style. Foreman would just throw his ass back out and start going to town. Can't go toe to toe with Foreman, if you get close doesn't matter how well you move he is going to bust you.
