Selina Juul (Stop Wasting Food movement) speaks in the European Parliament in Brussels

Stop Wasting Food movement is a non-profit consumer movement which fights food waste in Denmark. Danish people's yearly food waste is equivalent to 2,93 billion US Dollars (2,15 billion Euro) - and our aim is to fight food waste. See more at:

Selina Juul (Founder of the Stop Wasting Food movement) is one of the guest speakers and is giving a speech about food waste at the food conference "Transforming Food Waste into a Resource" in the European Parliament in Brussels. Stop Wasting Food movement is now being heard in Europe. The conference is organized by the Italian organization Last Minute Market with support from the EU's Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI). The conference aims to discuss and provide solutions on less food waste. Conference participants include organizations A.N.D.E.S. (France), FareShare (England), politicians such as Paolo De Castro (Chairman of the European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development), members of European Parliament and academic professors and NGOs. By the end of the conference, a joint document - Joint Declaration Against Food Waste - is presented and prepared by all participating parties. The Joint Declaration Against Food Waste will be disclosed to the European Parliament and the United Nations and contains proposals for sustainable use of food and commitment to the global reduction of food waste by at least 50% by 2025. Joint Declaration Against Food Waste also suggests that reducing food waste should be a new UN Millennium Development Goal.
