DIY camera shutter I'm building for my DIY MF-LF camera.
Powered by a rubber band with friction release by a pair of neodymium magnets.

  • Do you have a plan?

  • @arredamenticasalboni Sorry, I just built it with some spare parts, I think you could find shutter mechanisms somewhere on the internet.

  • Excellent. Will you please explain what the magnets are for?

  • @RyanCPhoto The magnets hold the disk still by friction, and when the magnet on the sticks is moved away from the other magnet there is less friction and the shutter fires.

  • Brilliant! But what it (the parts) has been originally? I've made a sliding shutter for my stereo camera thingy, as one longer plastic strip passing over the (disposable) camera lenses, but the other film got out foggy.

  • @wolfncrow It's made from a lens filter box, a rubber band, a paper clip and cardboard. I hope you can get yours working.

  • @oid123 Thanks! Lens filter box... I think I should have one somewhere. It's transparent, but that can be fixed with several layers of black spray paint. I thought there are magnets! Excellent thinking!

  • Good stuff. Keep at it
