When I saw ROTS at the cinema in Palpatines speech to the senate he declared 'The Republic will be transformed into THE FIRST GALACTIC EMPIRE, with a Ruler ELECTED FOR LIFE!', on my dvd copy the 'ruler elected for life' line has been cut out....is that on all worldwide dvd copies or just in the UK market-in any case, Lucas was a cunt to remove it from the dvd...bitch.

i honestly can't think of another villain who comes close to him. the character developed in the later movies, no doubt, but when you think about all that he did behind the scenes and just how cunning he was, its really something to think about.

The reason i love palpatine is because he is one of the very few villains who wasnt turned evil because he had a bad life or something, but he was born evil (as stated by Ian, he is the incarnation of the dark side)
