When a man is injured in war, he is considered a hero. When a woman is raped she is shamed, abandoned by her husband and community. Women for Women International reaches out to men community leaders with important messages about the value of women in their homes and communities. Men partner with Women for Women International and see value and benefits for themselves too.

  • For one, the opening statement is an attempt to create a false dichotomy.

There's absolutely nothing, AT ALL similar about a soldier being wounded and a woman being raped.

It's a ridiculous comparison to draw.

I certainly don't condone rape, nor do I condone shaming women for legitimately being raped... not this "I had sex while I was drunk at a party" garbage.

It really doesn't help their cause when they use such questionable terms to draw a comparison between two things.
