From 1997-1999, Nala Walla and Glenn Reed sailed to Alaska aboard their catamaran "Tolfea." This is a quick-edit of the footage, put together by Nala for her masters program in Integrative Arts and Ecology, through Gaia University.

Nala had been feeling stifled by her masters studies in Ecology at the University of Washington (1994-1997), and decided that the best education she could get would be to live with the sea. Long live self-education, and thank you to Gaia University for recognizing the value of real-world experience! Most of all, thank you to Glenn Reed for your brave leadership and companionship.

Soundtrack is "Night Song" by Jami Sieber -- from her album "Unspoken" She is amazing. Thanks Jami!

  • nice film! Love that part at 4:40 when you are sailing downwind in gale force, riding a storm front.
