Need an alternative to buying an expensive Zoom recorder? Check out the Phillips Voice Tracer. The product mentioned in the video is the Voice Tracer LFH 0652 with 2GB internal memory. These recorders only use internal memory. I've used this on actors and have gotten rich, resonant recordings from it.

  • @marpo hey im your cousin brenden, julie hefner's son. hi

  • @xXCozmicKhickenXx Hey Brenden. How ya doin? Tell your mom I said hi.

  • im new to this help me understand please so when i record on there the audio goes to that thing or the camera and does it turn on when u hit record on the camera. Last do i have to line u p the vocals with the video

  • The audio stays on this recorder, then you sync it with the other audio (the audio that your camera recorded). To make this easy, you clap your hands so you can see the spike in the audio on your timeline. I try to start the camera and the audio recorder at about same time, then I say the name of the audio file. The recorder has 4 separate folders for voice audio - A thru D and it will show you the name of the file while it's recording, so I will say, for instance - Folder A, track 01.

  • Yeah, I've noticed that myself. I bought it on Amazon, but now the cheapest one is 70 bucks. I may be able to research where it came from if I can find the record on my charge card. I bought it in the spring of 2011, but I guess I just got lucky getting it for $44. I bought a more expensive Sanyo (similar recorder) for $89. and it didn't come with a mic, so I would still recommend this one as the best deal.

  • @marpo oh and ive heard its your birthday today, happy birthday

  • @marpo im good and ill tell her you said hi,nice videos by the way

  • Thank you!!

  • Where did you get this for 44 dollars? I only see it for like 70. I saw similar ones on eBay for 40 and 45, but not this one.

  • I suspect you can plug most electret mic, like PC mics directly into it - will depend on bias voltage needed by capsule. It should be a directly wired electret capsule which needs around 1.2-2.5 V of bias voltage, such that a transistor inside the capsule serves as first amplifier stage making the rest of the system less noisy and cheaper. An impedance of ~1KOhm or so is merely a token value and has no direct meaning for these type of device.
