Full-Motion cutscene from Westwood Studio's Dune 2000.

The Harkonnen war effort is advancing too slowly. And while Harkonnen are bred for war, they are not so eloquent in domestic matters. After being caught off-guard by the Emperor's decree, their harvesting efforts suffered to the point that the need for a new refining base in the Imperial Basin was required. The Harkonnen Mentat Hayt De Vries expects nothing of the new Commander. Until he's proven his worth in blood, he'll save the niceties such as gratitude and hope for later. However, he does give him good advice. Don't go near the Baron when you don't have a heart plug...or for that matter, when you do.

  • How does he know you have no heartplug? Are you supposed to be topless or something?

  • He says:

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion

It is by the juice of Sappho that thoughts aquire speed

    The lips aquire stains

    The stains become a warning

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion

  • the heart plug was introduced in the dune movie by david lynch, it adds to house harkonnen's sadism

  • Was the Heartplug in the Novel?

The whole Concept sounds stupid, that thing could be pulled out by accident, and you are dead.

btw: How is it even fixed? The heart is beating and the chest is constantly moving.

  • wow, this makes the Harkonnen look good. Although the beginning was too copied from Lynch, the rest of the cutscene was well done. This guy is like a more humorous version of Piter.

  • I just love his "go to hell" finger movements when he finishes the briefing :D

  • "It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, stains become a warning. It is by will alone I set my mind in motion."

    Awesome line!

  • I thought the Harkonnen color was green in the movie.

  • The Mentat Hayt De Vries, Really reminds me of John Malkovich. He even speaks like him....

  • Hayt de Vries is the worst Mentat ever besides the Atreides Mentat in Emperor.

  • I am not, under any circumstances, Billy Mumy.

  • So that's what an Oompa-loompa looks like, on stilts.
