Why Patrick Sharp got MVP, No Clue!

Despite Sickness and Sadness, I needed to comment on how disappointed I am in the NHL for giving the MVP to Sharp.

@cruisegirl82 I am not a Blackhawks hater. I am one of the few in NY that has rooted for them, and continue to do so, I thought others were more deserving. I'm glad that the fan's had their input... but I wish it was decided on a slightly less bias level, oh well... good for him...

It was voted on by the fans. Patrick Sharp has a lot of fans. I personally wanted to see one of the captains win it. Eric Staal had two goals and Nick Lidstrom was like +7.

@seattlesonlypensfan I agree. I like Sharp, I just think another player was more worthy of it, STALL ESPECIALLY. What he did/does for his team is phenomenal, leadership like that from a young player is admirable. I see similar qualities in Henry. I am a huge redwings fan too, so seeing Lindy win it would have been gratifying, but he's such an obvious choice (for me at least)

Sharp got the votes because they had him with 1 G and 3 A for a while until they reassigned one of the assists. Also because he plays for the Hawks (reigning Cup champs at the time), he's one of their most popular players (third most popular jersey they sell), oh and he's sexy (see Chicago Magazine).

Going strictly by the numbers it should have been Shea Weber who had 4 assists and was +6, or maybe Jonas Hiller who had the top save %.

The All-Star MVP is meaningless; it's not the Conn Smythe.
