A CGI demo of the USS Enterprise. I built and animated it with Anim8or. I used the plans from the 1970s Franz Joseph blueprints as a template.

  • I've actually noticed a few things that aren't quite right...but this is only because I'm converting an AMT 18" kit into a FJ Constitution.

Ok, First up, no triangles under the ship. FJ just had the two red 1/3 circles at the back of the saucer.

Secondly, the underneath of the saucer and top have the grid lines clearly shown. This grid also goes down on the neck but stops on the secondary hull.

Third, the inside intercoolers look like the AMT kit ones and the 4 rear ones are open.

  • Thanks for your comments and your opinions are well-received. I'm aware that the CGI model is not quite correct. That's the beauty of CGI. Fixes are easy. I used the blueprints I bought back in 70s to model this, and the decals I downloaded from the internet. I'm 50, and I had a couple of the AMT models when I was a kid back in the 60s.

  • How can you do that

  • I bring a message to all hate what YouTube is becoming. I hate the new appearance of the viewing system, I hate the reorientation of the video selection, comments, and description system, and most importantly, I hate the new rating system. I will spread this message everywhere until the designers of YouTube will concede with my complaints and restore it all.

  • Not to be too picky, but it's just because I'm building the model.

You are still 100% better at CG modeling than I am.

  • I was going to say you made a mistake until I saw the top of the Primary Saucer! Good job!

  • Cool!

  • Very nice!
