This is a video of the Albuquerque, NM Tea Party protest held on July 4, 2009. An organizer I spoke with as the protest was drawing to a close estimated that about 7000 individuals were in attendance. Participants experienced normal summer conditions for the area; hot and cloudy with some wind. The event took place along Alameda near Balloon Fiesta Park; the crowd stretched for several city blocks on both sides of Alameda from Jefferson to Balloon Fiesta Drive. The Tea Party was well organized and very civil with minimal traffic and crowd control support provided by the Albuquerque Police Department. The participants exhibited tremendous enthusiasm. Speeches, introductions of organizers and live music were provided throughout the Tea Party along with vendors of food and other commodities. Tea Party volunteers staffed the registration booth, set up the facilities and performed all other necessary activities in a courteous and efficient manner.
It was good to have the turn out.
And I am glad to have joined with the thousands of fellow Patriots in voicing our demands for freedom!
I look forward to standing united with our brothers and sisters always.
