Frank Sinatra
Reprise Recordings
(H. Mancini, J. Mercer)
[Recorded January 28, 1964, Los Angeles]

Moon river, wider than a mile
I'm crossin' you in style some day
Old dream maker, you heartbreaker
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way

Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end, waitin' 'round the bend
My huckleberry friend, Moon River, and me

[instrumental-first verse]

Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end, waitin' 'round the bend
My huckleberry friend, Moon River, and me

  • Frank is my favorite singer, but I don't think this is one of his better recordings. His voice sounds a little strained at times, especially the way he sings the phrase "two drifters." I like Nelson Riddle's arrangement, though, particularly the use of guitar and French horn.

  • Frank was everybodys Huckleberry Friend :)

  • Magnificent, thank you!
