one of the best parts of the C&O towpath, great bike trip for anybody to take

I HIGHLY recommend that people don't ride through. Walk your bikes.

Wife and I biked the Towpath in 94. Stayed at Paw Paw Wv at the Paw Paw bed and breakfast with Bill and Kate owners. Great trip.

I found some things about the haunted house. Apparently, according to a historian I know, locals were killed there. Supposedly, U.S needed the land and the people didnt want to give it up. So they killed them. I dont know if thats true, but its what I was told.

It's a gorgeous trail, really hard to ride in the mud though, I did a ride today, and it started raining half way through the ride. It got so difficult, my mountain bike couldnt go through it cleanly, i ended up having to get off at nolands ferry, and riding to my destination on the interstate. Do you know the deal with the haunted house near Pennyfield?

me and a friend rode through there without a light. probably stupid, but it was definitely the highlight of the entire towpath.

I did it while participating in the Rail Trail Sojourn from D.C. to Pittsburgh in the summer of 2007. I will go back someday.
