Many thanks to you for posting this, sometimes words & music can say so much. My life and career is now based around women like you achieving your dream - I am a Midwife (was doula) who specialises in VBAC especially at home. Please do contact me if you want to talk.

@REPTILE87901 No one denies that sections saves lives. If you have made peace with how your children came into this world, thats great. But some of us haven't. Unless you have suffered this pain and loss, you have no right to open your mouth. The PTSD I also suffered was 100% due to my first sons 'birth'. I had nightmares, panic attacks, flash backs, none of which I had ever had before. How about a little compassion for something you know nothing about? Such ignorance and spiteful words. Grow up.

@supershourds Please, please, please reconsider the hysterectomy. Get a second opinion and protect your womb. These doctors don't tell us the post side effects from these unnecessary surgeries they claim are so needed. I was having excessive bleeding during my period from PTLS, which is a side effect from that; and they wanted to give me a hysterectomy, that they said was necessary; to which I said NO! Needless to say , I went home, prayed to God for help, and the bleeding stopped.

I am so sorry! This is sad. I've suffered a lot after two unnecessary C-sections. I am trying for a VBAC this time. I am so tired of the hopspital lies!

I understand your pain. I too suffered PTSD and PPD after my first section. I recently {one month ago} had my second section after laboring for 66 hours. Should have been our home birth but we had to transfer. I am so sorry you too had to go through this and so much more. I wish people could understand that our trauma is very real. I am a doula, have been for two years and I still ended up a CBAC. Love and light to you as you navigate the healing process.

Wow...didn't know states could actually outlaw it...

Thank you. I also had very good experiences with my c-sections & plan to have at least 2 more for a total of 5!! My providers are so supportive & helpful. They answer any & every question I have & include me in on everything even though they are a rather large group of providers (MD's, mid-wives & Masters Nurses). They really wanted to help me out w VBAC, but it turned out to be a good thing they urged me not to cuz I would've ruptured & never gotten to see my 3rd precious child...

You had a bad doctor/midwife. I've had 3 c-sections. The 1st was cuz she was transverse breech & resisted all attempts to get her to move and then they had to cut me vertically because of her size & position. My 2nd was cuz he was distressed @37 wks &because I had been cut vertically. My 3rd was cuz I now had a "T" cut...when they got in there, my uterus was very thin so it would've ruptured if i had tried VBAC. My providers were all informative & supportive all the way.

You had a very bad doctor. I live in NM and go to Las Cruces to OB/GYN associates. I LOVE them...even though I will have c-sections for the rest of my children. I have had 3 so far...the first causing the rest due to a transverse breech positioning that failed under an external version attempt, just waiting on the baby to move, and me doing various positions/exercises/etc...not only did they do a c-section, but they ended up needing to cut me vertically inside (not outside)...
This mother is very uneducated...after the first or second, why didn't she change providers?! Plus, don't blame PPD and PTSD on a c-section, that's ridiculous. Your babies will bond with you no matter what. she's saying that the couple minutes or hours the baby was away from her "hurt" them...wonder what people who don't have any milk or who have preemies do without that time? I have had 3 c-sections. My 1st was transverse breech and I would've died along w my baby if not for the c-section...

@REPTILE87901 That's a very rude thing to say and I'm very educate on this matter. PTSD and PPD CAN come from from birth experiences gone wrong...of all kinds (not just cesareans). I am now having a hysterectomy next month from the damage done from the last cesarean. I suppose some woman bance back. The 4th cesarean did me in. And as for the birth control comment that was left, I used borth control every time but was unaware that I had epilepsy, that seemed to compound this.

To be completely honest if I would have just known to refuse the first cesarean I would not be in this situation, now I am 27 and preparing for a complete hysterectomy. This is a sad world when doctors can look a a clock, then look at you and not fully inform you because they want to "get on with it". Looking back I would have prefered to push through a swollen cervix (if they told me it were possible). They don't freely give info anymore, the patients rights and education is key now a days!

I had a wonderful midwife who was willing...homebirth is not illigal but homebirth midwives are outlawed in my state. My Husband and I were NEVER in agreement on this issue. He wanted a hosital VBA3C. I knew that would never happen, he thought it would be safer. The was to labor at my mother's for as long as possible and then go to the hospital and refuse cesarean unless medically necessary. But I spiked BP, anxieties arose, eventually I ended up in the hospital, things happened in between.

babe I'm sorry for your experience.Ihope you have agood therapist.Agood lawyer might be the go too!( for the burn)
Not all C-s are as yours. I know a Dr who lets the mother have extra long gloves on and help lift the baby out of her tummy! At my hospital we get Mum and bub skin to skin ASAP to help the bonding process.

@justcint1 I wish we were in another country, AMERICA is terrible for their rates but ACOG just released a new practice bulletin saying VBAC should be made accessible to woman, even to those with 2 prior c-sections!
