When a cruise ship full of Nation supporters dropped anchor in Juneau, Alaska last August, Editor and Publisher Katrina vanden Heuvel gathered for a rally with members of the Juneau Veterans for Peace and other advocates for peace. In this cut from The Rocky Documentary: Blue Man/Red State, filmmaker Rhea Gavry and Douglas Monroe captured the warmth and passion of people of conscience united in a common cause.

  • We the People for Peace stand with all the Veterans against war worldwide.

  • you're an idiot. when people think "veteran", they think veteran of war. veteran means... like a retired, experienced person in a certain category. an old retired teacher could be considered a veteran of teaching.

no wonder republicans are such idiots....

    (LOL)

  • lmao, they want to kill us.... soooo yes we should just leave them alone. it costs taxpayers millions of dollars more to pay this. we havent gotten any progress over the last 5 years besides encouraging thier production of weapons of mass destruction and violence. Russia already tried this Iraq bullshi*, for ten years!! and they didn't get anywhere either. Middle-easterners are mostly all liars and cheaters, you cannot trust them. the only reason we're in Iraq is so our government can make more

  • Hey, go back to school and learn how to spell.

  • Joh 18:36 Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm."

The one who gave me my freedom did not use the military option. He used force with money changers, but when he bought my freedom and others & address directly with Pilate that he was a King who would not use the

military option since his kindom is not of this world.

  • The constitution gives one the right to protest. If it where defined by someone who fought for the Country alone the right would

vanish because military force would take it.

Fortunately my freedom comes from bonds that only one died for & others died spreading that message. Many Christians like William

Kay Moser gave up freedoms for a time to be true to the freedom or mercy from wrath & would not show wrath so others would lose their lifetime option to embrace the same promise.

  • Lord almighty. I guess we should just pull out of Iraq and have millions of civilians starve to death and be executed via civil war and genocide. Let's also undo the progress we've accomplished over the last five years. Oh, and to top it all off, let's give the country over to Iran and al-Qaeda and all the other groups that will gain safe haven and use the territory against us. Nine tenths of these protesters can't find Iraq on a map. Dumb ass liberals always trying anything to get attention.

  • I hate VETERANS FOR PEACE they arn't even veterans, as someone who lives In Juneau, Alaska and a Republican I am ashamed to see this going on at our Capital. May the lord destroy fakes that call them selfs "veterans" they are liars, plain out liars

    god bless the USA

    I love President Bush,

what'd id give for him to be able to run a third term.

    We love ya bush

    -Edgar Fremming

    Republicans of Juneau.

  • I see your fallacy, and I raise you the First Amendment, buddy. I reserve the right to protest or support whatever I damn well please, because I, despite not being a war vet, can form my own opinions about anything.

Other than that... small disagreement, I second your blessing. I pray for the vets too, and hope to God people have the sense not to give them the sort of bullshit reception they got after Vietnam, when they finally get back. Love the troops, man, in a totally platonic way.
