Michel Polnareff composed it as 'the doll who
says no', before signing to a label. He recorded it in french for his first single
as 'la poupee qui fait non', in 1966.

it was a big hit in Italy and I still have the 45 with the italian version sung by him : one of the few great beat songs of the sixties not from England or America...
