@xxangierulzxx then video tape him, put it on youtube, and show us.

@elliecahill in a time where the average 7 or 8 year olds are exposed to constant excitement and profanity from movies, video games, and radio music, along with whatever is shown on tv (tho less most likely) one doesnt have to worry about the profanity used here because theyre already callused from it, unfortunately. and saying fuck doesnt make a statement any less credible. "fuck, spitz and phelps are great swimmers". any less credible or true? no. but great to see you ur not hating like others
-
@elliecahill cuz he ddnt want to or he feels like he ddnt have to, im sure phelps spoke for himself. and screw the drama, its about the athletes. and its not just a rant, its showing why you cant compare two of the greatest swimmers ever, arguably the best two. a rant is more like a bunch of the smae thing over and over.

What makes your comment a "top comment", anyway? It's just a rant.
Mark should have been brought in to be interviewed and to offer commentary during Michael Phelps amazing Olympic swims. Spitz could have brought such insight to the viewers and with his mastery of the sport he would have heightened the drama and enjoyment of the entire event. He's a highly sought after speaker. I wonder why that didn't happen.

Your comments about Spitz are right on. But your profanity dulls the credibility of your
statements. There are 7 and 8 year old swimmers reading these comments. But maybe you didn't know that. At any rate, here's to an amazing swimmer, Mark Spitz!

Mark Spitz is the best swimmer of all time. He broke the world record in every Olympic swimming event he swam in Munich and did things in the water that nobody has EVER done. He was the first athlete EVER to win 7 gold medals in an Olympics! He did all of this with a mustache, a full head of hair, unshaven legs, a standard issue nylon speedo and WITHOUT the amazing technique advances that Michael Phelps was privy to. Mark deserves more fame than he received. He is without a doubt, THE BEST!

My friend is 16 and can do that time

@Mokurkalfe I'll take that challenge. I'll even swim it under 2.05 minutes :p

Does anyone else find it strange that Spitz's Wikipedia page doesn't mention that he was escorted out of Munich under heavy guard as a safety measure because of the Black September Israeli hostage situation? It's was a bitter end to his ultimate triumph, I know, but it's also a pretty big event in his bio, isn't it?
What the fuck?? Whats wrong with all you dickheads.. Mark Spitz is a was a fucking good athlete, and Micheal Phelps is too.. You cant compare them, because Mark was in 72 and Phelps in 08..
Fuck all of you who says Mark is an bad athlete, i would like to see you swim 200m freestyle in just under 10 minutes..
Your all just a bunch of fat slobs.

Records are made to be broken...but...the one thing you should take a look at when comparing Spitz to Phelps is the margin of victory. Take nothing away from Phelps, he is the best in the world right now but he did not dominate his races the way that Spitz did in 72. No way of knowing who would be better given the same training, suits, caps etc..... Not really important either...what is important is the fact that they both acheived what most thought was impossible.
