This series covers the 1979 rise to power of a little known two-star general in the South Korean army. General Chun Doo-hwan is able to take advantage of the situation and twist the political climate to his will, enabling him to declare himself President of South Korea less than a year later.

This series is a documentary drama (docudrama) that has none of the normal fluff and pointless scenes you normally find in Korean dramas. It is historically accurate and to the point. If you like political dramas or are interested in this period of contemporary Korean history, you will enjoy this series.
