no its a 3D image shown in its full 1920x1080 picture shown at 120/240 hz (UK) and the glasses will split the frame rate into 60/120 per eye depending on TV. very much like the Nvidia 3D glasses. check it out

Sony PlayStation 3 will have 3D Technology for Games and Movies too.

yes i know but those glasses will still be needed i was refering to someone else about the technology for the 3D thing.

Panasonic's 3D plasma TV with active shutter glasses is FullHD (1080p). On the other hand, LCD TV's employing passive polarized glasses sacrifice half the horizontal resolution since the images for the left eye and right eye are created simultaneously on the display. Its not clear yet what technology Sony will use
