I remember this would come on around 11:30 or 12 (when cartoons were over) and dad would come in and take over the TV for the next 4 hours.

@gpwerner Dub Taylor is correct! He can be seen on later episodes of Little House on the Prairie and also had a small scene in Back to the future III during the saloon scene.

i remember that hubba bubba commercial. it used 2 b my favorite bubble gum back in the day.

@heine71 Also don't forget Popeye, Commander Gampu from Space Academy, Batman, Tarzan, Jason of Star Command and characters from Tarzan and the Super 7 did In The News Intros also.

@seanmc31076 Yup, and the losing gunfighter is pockmarked faced Anthony James. Played various bad guys, henchman and gunslingers in everything going all the way back to the 1960's in Gunsmoke, Bonanza and played Skinny the saloon/whore keeper in Unforgiven.

The old white-haired guy in the Hubba Bubba commercials was veteran character actor Parley Baer (best known as the mayor on "The Andy Griffith Show"), while the cowboy would go on to do health insurance commercials in Arizona.
