Microsoft Security Essentials Virus Test

In this video, I will be testing Microsoft Security Essentials. This program is good for an average home user and is perfect for your kids to go on the internet and play games. It will alert you when it has found something and will give you the option to "Clean Computer". As you you will see in this video, when Microsoft Security Essentials is put up to some nasty malware it doesn't stand a chance. After I was done installing the malware (viruses) I updated the virus definitions and I did a scan. It found absolutely nothing. While I installed the malware it gave me a few options to "Clean Computer", but after scanning with the latest virus definitions of Malwarebytes it found about 53 different pieces of malicious malware Microsoft Security Essentials did not catch. There was mostly Trojans and Adware, but the were also some nasty browser Hi-Jackers. After cleaning the computer with Malwarebytes all that was left to do was un-install the browser Hi-Jacker and we were done. As I said before, for your child's computer Microsoft Security Essentials is fine, but when it comes to all this malware at ones it stands no chance. I gave this program a 6/10 because no average user is going to put this many pieces of malware at it at once. That is what I think about Microsoft Security Essentials. (Also don't forget that the websites I use update their malware very frequently, so it could have been that they did not get those latest virus definitions. It could have at least caught some though.

I still say avast is the best. the virus i wrote ( for testing reasons ) got past norton macafee, clam and msse. nod32 caught it but crashed when trying to remove it. avast deletes it from the source drive and from the system before it can even be planted. avast wins hands down. and its free.

@MrGizmo757 I wouldn't say Avast is the best, but it is REALLY good. In my opinion the best one out there right now is Comodo INTERNET Security. It is free and amazing

i have Microsoft and malware Microsoft dosent work for deleting and detecting stuff its really a 1 or 2 malware probably for me a 8,9 or 10
