Sichuan Earthquake, the recovery and aftermath

Feng Xiang was the mayor of the city of Beichuan, the city located at the epicenter of the quake. The whole town is abandoned due to the high risks of the location. His son was missing after his school collapsed, Xiang spent three days without rest or food searching for his son, before his body was found buried in the rubble.

Earlier this year I, along with six other medical professionals from all over the world travelled to Sichuan province to provide aid and support to the survivors. Many of whom live in substandard conditions. I met Mr. Feng during a dinner party, while he shared his tragic recollections from the disaster. In the last photograph in this video, he is the second from the left.
